The Assistant General Secretary (Education) works closely with the Team Leader in conceptualising and executing programmes through schools to achieve SKM’s mission.

You will:

– Conceptualise, market and execute new and existing programmes (not limiting to the Friend of Singa programme), events and resources to spread the message of kindness and graciousness to primary, special education students from local and international schools and Madrasahs

– Conceptualise, market and execute new and existing programmes (not limiting to the existing badge programme), events and resources to spread the message of kindness and graciousness to student care centres

– Manage and execute the annual Kindness Award Ceremony culminating the Friend of Singa, Write for Kindness, Kindness Badge Award and badge programmes for student care centres

– Maintain archives of collaterals, photos and all previous work

– Exercise necessary procurement, practise good governance and review internal budget and logistics for programmes and events under your charge, including sponsorship requests

– Establish accountability and evaluation standards and systems to track programmes’ effectiveness and impact

– Provide post-event and programme reports for review and recommend areas of improvement

– Seek, build and maintain partnerships to collaborate with primary, special education, secondary and international schools, government and private organisations to run programmes and events

– Carry out new and innovative educational programmes when so required

– Work closely with other members of the education team to ensure all programmes are implemented smoothly

– Participate in and contribute to all assigned task clusters within the Secretariat, including co-working with other personnel as necessary

Knowledge and skill requirements:

– Degree in Communications / Marketing / Education or relevant with at least 3 – 4 years of relevant working experience

– Proficiency in MS Office

– Good communication and interpersonal skills

– Impeccable coordination and organizational skills

– Ability to pay high attention to details

– Passion to work with teachers and primary school students

Your essential function is to provide operational management & control of the social media platforms & other visual elements of the key messaging of the Singapore Kindness Movement (SKM), and will report to the Associate General Secretary (Strategic Marketing and Communications) and General Secretary (GS) of SKM.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support the Associate General Secretary in strategy planning and execution to achieve the mission and vision.
  • Understand, refine & communicate the focused positioning of the kindness movement, so that kindness is seen as a desirable universal trait for Singaporeans.
  • Use this purposeful positioning to conceptualise, develop, plan and implement visual materials for SKM, and ensure consistent branding for all artwork & publicity.
  • Generate content & engagement in social media networks (with AGS Social Media).
  • Manage the architecture, design & functionalities, and ensure smooth running of the SKM’s website and other social media platforms.
  • Provide web development reports & other key milestones related to online publicity.
  • Work with and manage external social media agencies where necessary.
  • Participate in & contribute to all assigned task clusters within the Secretariat, including online activation for Partnerships & Schools teams.
  • Exercise necessary procurement and practise good governance for all programmes and events.
  • Monitor the allocated digital budget & establish accountability/evaluation standards and systems that track specific campaign and programme effectiveness and impact where possible
  • Work across all sectors to foster synergy and productivity
  • Ensure team synergy and kinship to promote a healthy working environment

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  • High interest in making a meaningful contribution to society.
  • Minimum Diploma in Multimedia and/or Animation required, degree in Digital Marketing or related.
  • At least 1-2 years working experience in design, multimedia, &/or digital marketing, notably in leading & managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email/EDM, social media &/or display advertising campaigns. Fresh graduates with some experience may apply.
  • Experience in optimising landing pages & user funnels, preferably including A/B testing
  • Creativity & experience in identifying target audiences in digital/social, and devising campaigns & materials that inform, engage & motivate
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Energetic attitude required, with strengths & demonstrated experience with a range of computer software notably Adobe creative suites among others.
  • Interest & self-confidence in continuous learning in a rapidly evolving industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, personable and convincing in relationships with colleagues & external partners.
  • Teamwork skills required to implement cross-functional projects.

Your essential function is to provide operational implementation and support, as well as further strategic development of the positioning and key messaging of the Singapore Kindness Movement (SKM), reporting to the Associate General Secretary (Strategic Marketing and Communications) and General Secretary of SKM (GS).

Priorities and Mission

  • Understand, refine & communicate the focused positioning of the kindness movement, so that kindness is seen as a desirable universal trait for Singaporeans.
  • Work with internal stakeholders in owning & embracing these desired changes.
  • Effectively communicate these key messages and goals, including but not limited to working with external agencies.
  • Together with the Associate General Secretary (Strategic Planning & Marketing), provide the General Secretary with detailed briefings and support for media interviews, as well as craft quotes and soundbites for press releases for the General Secretary.
  • Provide similar detailed briefings and support for other SKM spokesmen (other languages, specific focus areas).
  • Support and front media interviews where appropriate
  • Assist in & monitor consumer insight research through 3rd-party research agencies, and where applicable, in-house.
  • Monitor, respond and assign responses to general enquiries within SKM.
  • Participate in & contribute to all assigned task clusters within the Secretariat.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma with at least 1-2 years relevant working experience OR Degree in Business Administration / Marketing / Communications with at least 1-2 years relevant working experience. Fresh graduates with some experience may apply.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Able to work independently and multi-task in a fast paced environment 
  • People-oriented and enjoy organising events
  • Able to manage projects and campaigns at a national level
  • Experienced in verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Good knowledge of mother-tongue / dialect language is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of social media
  • Meticulous with an eye for detail
  • Able to multitask, good organisational and time management skills
  • A personal interest in and disposition to kindness.
