Position: Assistant General Secretary (Education)

The Assistant General Secretary (Education) works closely with the Team Leader in conceptualising and executing programmes through schools to achieve SKM’s mission.

You will:

  • Conceptualise, market and execute programmes, events and resources to spread the message of kindness and graciousness to primary, special education students from local and international schools and Madrasahs
  • Conceptualise, market and execute programmes, events and resources to spread the message of kindness and graciousness to student care centres
  • Manage, market and execute the Friend of Singa programme to primary, secondary, special education students from local and international schools and Madrasahs
  • Manage, market and execute the Seed Kindness Fund Junior programme
  • Manage and execute the annual Kindness Award Ceremony for Friend of Singa, Write for Kindness, Kindness Badge Award and Seed Kindness Fund Junior programmes
  • Maintain archives of collaterals, photos and all previous work
  • Exercise necessary procurement, practise good governance and review internal budget and logistics for programmes and events under your charge, including sponsorship requests
  • Establish accountability and evaluation standards and systems to track programmes’ effectiveness and impact
  • Provide post-event and programme reports for review and recommend areas of improvement
  • Seek, build and maintain partnerships to collaborate with primary, special education, secondary and international schools, government and private organisations to run programmes and events
  • Carry out new and innovative educational programmes when so required
  • Work closely with other members of the education team to ensure all programmes are implemented smoothly
  • Participate in and contribute to all assigned task clusters within the Secretariat, including co-working with other personnel as necessary

Knowledge and skill requirements:

  • Degree in Communications / Marketing / Education or relevant with at least 2-3 years of relevant working experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Impeccable coordination and organizational skills
  • Ability to pay high attention to detail
  • Passion to work with primary school students

Programmes for Pre-schoolers

  • Conceptualise, market and execute programmes, events and resources to spread the message of kindness and graciousness to pre-schoolers

Programmes for Parents

  • Develop, market and execute programmes, events and resources for parents with school-going children from pre-school to secondary levels to support parents in inculcating right values in their children

Under Both Tracks

  • Manage and review internal budget and logistics for programmes and events under his/her charge, including sponsorship requests
  • Exercise necessary procurement, practise good governance and review internal budget and logistics for programmes and events under his/her charge
  • Establish accountability and evaluation standards and systems to track programmes’ and resources’ effectiveness and impact
