Gathering on National Day

September 10, 2014 · Written by Jenny Wee

We moved to our new home 3 years ago to be closer to my sister who lives a stone throw from our new place.

When we first moved in, we were pleasantly surprised to see beautiful plants lined at our neighbour’s corridor. As both of us love plants, we hope we could connect with our neighbours sooner rather than later , considering that we have the same interest.

How true! Just a few days after moving in, we met our new Malay neighbours at the lift landing and after a quick introduction, started talking about plants and gardening. And after a month we started sharing CDs and books and even offered to water each other plants when one family was out of town.

During the last festive occasion, our neighbours brought to us cakes and goodies and we reciprocated by inviting them to our place to celebrate National Day with us. We had a wonderful time getting to know one another and plan to have our next gathering soon, hopefully with other neighbours as well.
