Companies commemorate Kindness

May 25, 2016

In its 4th year running, Kindness Day SG (KDSG) is an annual event that reflects upon, recognises, and encourages  many exceptional, and everyday acts of kindness that happen on our island. In collaboration with partners, education institutions, charity organizations and members of the public, KDSG hopes to encourage everyone to perform kind acts wherever they are.

Our campaign tagline for 2016 is “Kindness, it’s up to us” where we challenge the public to take the initiative to be gracious members of the community. To achieve consistency in messaging and help companies kick-start their own programme for KDSG, we created a corporate starter kit with information and materials that will guide them in organizing Kindness Day activities. This year, we gave out a total of 7,000 Windmill Craft Daisies and 8,000 Kindness Hanging Envelopes to 31 corporate partners all across Singapore.

SBS Transit, in collaboration with The National Transport Workers’ Union (NTWU), launched their first ever CARES Kindness Day to coincide with KDSG on 20 May this year. Approximately 10,000 public transport workers received specially catered bento from their respective stations. Moreover, about 500 children from different schools were activated to give out hand-drawn cards, handmade ribbons and customised KDSG pens to public transport staffs at 9 bus interchanges and 5 MRT stations.

Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) also joined in the kindness fun, with their Great World @Banda. The event featured the games of yore, kampung activities that resonated with the attendees. There were karaoke sessions, tikam-tikam, and even fishing for prizes, among the myriad of activities for one and all. Not forgetting a booth where the attendees could fold Windmill Craft Daisies, in appreciation for the kind deeds that they have received. KDSG may be one day in a year, but kindness is year-round. For any inquiries about a kindness related corporate event, please drop an email to [email protected].
