Stay united and practise kindness in the midst of the nCoV situation through these 4 ways:
Take care of your personal hygiene, to keep yourself and those around you healthy
- Wash your hands frequently with soap – soap is better than sanitiser!
- Wear a mask if you have a cough or cold (you don’t need one if you’re not unwell!)
- Please see a doctor if you’re feeling sick
- Avoid going to crowded places if you are feeling unwell
- Defer travel to affected areas
Reassure and take care of one another – friend, co-worker, neighbour
- Share tips on staying healthy with friends and family, and especially the elderly who are not familiar with digital channels or the major languages
- Stay updated through the MOH website, or the gov.sg WhatsApp group
- Lend a hand to the vulnerable and the elderly if they need help (especially if they are not familiar with digital channels or the major languages!)
Express appreciation for those working hard for us
- Show thanks to doctors, nurses, airport workers, transport staff, and other frontline staff, especially those whom you know or are around you (a relative, a friend, a neighbour) – encouraging words, notes, small tokens (e.g. a drink or snacks), even a smile can go a long way!
Speak up for hope and care, and stand against the needlessly negative
- Help explain that rumours are harmful, and don’t share information that you are not sure about
- Highlight the many good things that we are all doing as a society
- The times can be stressful for many people, so be kind and gentle in reminding people that we can get through this when we stand together
