SINGAPORE – About 400 local taxi drivers received fun packs today as part of Kindness Day Singapore 2013.

Organised by SAFRA Radio, the deejays and crew from SAFRA Radio stations 88.3Jia FM and Power 98FM were at two locations to give out some Kindness Day Fun packs containing gifts and snacks to cabbies.

SAFRA Radio said in a statement that taxi drivers often work long hours and drive long distances every day.

“They take us where we need to go and put a smile on our face with a joke or two after a stressful day. They are also ambassadors for Singapore as they ferry millions of tourists from around the world.

“But in our fast-paced and stressful society, taxi drivers often become the target of anti-social behaviour from rude and angry commuters,” SAFRA Radio said.

88.3Jia FM Deejays Loh Jia Ming and Ben Lee, along with Power 98FM Deejays Charmaine Phua and Michael Tan greeted taxi drivers and ask for their tips on how to spread kindness to others.
